88, Craig Woolard & Wonderful Family & Friends

Star of Wonder,
Star of Night,
Star with Royal Beauty Bright!
Many thanks to Kaye for the Moravian Star

2017 Birthday Celebration for "Lovie."
The "Star" herself frolicking & adored in a fun video;

So what better way to celebrate your 88th birthday then a serenade & shagging with Mr. Craig Woolard of The Embers??? What a day our birthday gal had! All that & surrounded with loved ones & close friends. Daughters, her favorite Son in law, Grandsons, her niece, great niece & great, great nephew braved the snow to come down from Virginia, cousins & many more relatives & dear friends. Special shout out to Christi, Nancy & Vanna!

With a nod toward beach music & the tropics Petals by Powell knocked a home run with the luscious palms & the utterly gorgeous orchids. They tied in oh so lovely with the collection of vintage mid century brass pineapples and the blue & white jardinieres. The pineapple represents the sign of hospitality; how perfect for a jubilant Christmas soiree. Lisa & her sidekick, Steve did an amazing job with the over the top floral assortment!!!

The traditional dessert table was in full blown sugar overload. Many thanks to all the guest who contributed; there was Paulette's famous coconut cake, Carl & family bring the strawberry shortcake, always a hit, why even John brought his (Anne's) soon to be famous coconut pie...... Many thanks to Blair for the fruit tree.  We had Claudia's Caribbean rum cake, red velvet cheesecake, english boiled custard, wine jelly shots, fruit cake & more!

With gratitude to Chef Paris for a smorgasbord of his Myrtle Vegas & Caribbean fusion. Where to start.... the Carribean jerk pulled pork pretzel sliders with jicama slaw or would it be the mini crab cakes with mango salsa??? Oh wait what about the "to die for" bacon, corn & scallion fritter with the nod to old school green goddess smear..... And yet there was more... blackened grilled shrimp with tomato salsa shots & one more old school nod; bacon wrapped pineapple that Chef brought to the 21st century with a honey sriracha glaze... seriously DEVINE!!!

The signature drinks had the guest returning for more!

Dinner is Served

Hosted a soiree for my garden club fundraiser auction winners.
Lovely group purchased the dinner.
Fun was had by all!

Aren't the rosette napkins about the cutest thing you have ever seen??? Go Christi! How to here.
Vintage valentines were the centerpiece for the placecards. Again, Christi.
China is courtesy of my relative, Laura.

The house was glowing with the homefires burning.

The ladies regaled in our "Paris at Night" theme! Many thanks to this lovely group for generously supporting our garden club efforts & helping our projects to bloom.

Robbie, Mic & Betsy Tom showing off their festive Parisienne garb.

Chef Paris Mishoe knocked a home run with his "over the top" menu. The guest were "gaga" over the delicious courses.  The meal was truly supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!! Wine pairings were exceptional from Wine Authority. Our sommelier Mic did a wonderful job choosing the pairings  & entertaining the ladies with information on each wine.

Let's get this party started! Southern Baby BLT's kicked things off.

Tuna Tini's were the bomb!

Flowers were ridiculously awesome. As always Flowers by Lisa with her side kick Betsy Tom. They were positively breathtaking.

My "flying nun" light fixture always gets the conversation going....

Guest went home with a sweetheart rose nosegay & their vintage valentine placecard.

With heartfelt thanks to Paris, Robbie, Mic, Betsy Tom, Lisa, Robin & Christi.
