Better Late Then Never After & A Kick Ass Coffee Table Book or Two....

In searching for the post on Chinoiserie Chic that brought me to my adorable Pagoda Chair I just realized I had been harboring her for almost 2 years..... She is now making her debut & is just about the cutest chair I have ever seen! I took Beth's lead & ordered her from Liv Vintage; she arrived via Greyhound & spent quite awhile in storage. I choose a similar fabric to what Beth had for the vision, had her refinished which began the transformation of what was a dirty, dingy naughahyde ~ I know right.... yikes. The new fabric is a stinker to shoot so bare with me as the sheen made it really tough.... Showing a couple of different angles in hopes you get the beauty of her now. Not sure if Liv Vintage is still around which is a darn shame.

I have gotten endless inspiration from Beth @ Chinoiserie Chic.....Her blog rocks the hemisphere & if you aren't a follower well you better get over there now & catch up!  Note, I obviously did not take Mary McDonald's advice where she says just use one Chinoiserie item per room......

More coming on the pink chair later for now here is the before above.....

Miles Redd Review
To know Frances Schultz is like playing Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon! Honestly she is so connected not just at the Piggly Wiggly in Tarboro but globally. And since I relish her blog I sometimes begin to pretend I know all the celebs she knows. Miles Redd is one of her buddies; could you just die??? Her recent post on the book (his book silly) had me imagining I was actually at the book signing & he says "Where have I heard your name??? Why I believe Frances Schultz was just raving about your new crib @ a party @ Tinsley Mortimers' last week...." A girl can dream..... Go read her review of the book & go buy it. I am busy imagining he will feature me in his next expose & invite me to a dinner party in his bathroom!

Carolyn Roehm
As for Frances, you just gotta go follow her blog..... She also knows Carolyn Roehm.....  And why yes I am a shameless name dropper.....
Later Gators!

Add a Pinch of Eye of Newt

I love enchantment, intrique & fairy tales, throw in a little mischief & I am a happy gal. My favorite tale of yore is Camelot. Always dreamed I would marry Robert Goulet, seriously the man could really belt out If Ever I Would Leave You.....oy I digress. Saw a post over on Frances Schultz  on her buddy Richard Keith Langham with this wickedly, provocative poolside harem tent. Read the post as it is fun & full of good stuff on Keith. Love it & the witches broom it flew in on.... just saying there is a witches ball (which I always have called a gazing ball but so lovn' the witches ball term more better) perched atop the tent to ward off evil.  Now you can afford-ably have your own... I know, right.

Z Gallery
This bad ass black & white stripe tent (which has been all over the net this year) is on sale over @ Z Gallery! Pitch it next to your pool or if it hasn't been installed yet grab a kiddie pool & let that imagination kick in..... work with me people....

Gazing Ball
Drop in this witches gazing ball &

mix up some white sangria

& have a devilish weekend!

PBC North Of the Mason Dixon

Oh Canada
There is for sure a Northern invasion of Palm Beach Chicness above the Mason Dixon. Why it goes all the way to Canada. Smart folks! Love the adorable decor of Marlie Waks's Toronto digs. Fresh, fun & festive.

Those flamingos..... TO DYE FOR!

The Bee Cottage

The Divine Miss Schultz paid a little homage to PBC in her recent reno up in The Hamptons. I feel a little Babe Paley vibe going on. Rumor has it there is a book on the way about the adorable Bee & I am already planning a book signing. I'd say deviled eggs are a given. Stay tuned!

Adler/Doonan The Hamptons
Wherever Jonathan Adler goes there will be Palm Beach Chicness. These pictures prove the point. He is the master of PBC.

Happy Chic

You can take the girl out of Palm Beach but thank goodness you can't take Palm Beach out of Celerie Kemble.

What a perfect way to start the week wouldn't you say???

Palm Beach Chicness + A Couple of Sidebars

Bold & Boastful

Anthony Baratta
Love, love ,love the confidence & panache that the great Anthony Baratta exudes. Boy Howdy I love me some Palm Beach Chicness & for my way of thinking Mr. Baratta is like a modern day Mr. Color + Dorothy D all wrapped up in one.

I am working on a reno & am creating my own minuscule version of the PBC Cottage look. Using Mr. B for inspiration.

Classic PBC from the Diamond Baratta Collaborations

Mr. Baratta

Heading down to West Palm to work the Dixie Highway with the adventerous Ms TeerTrek & can only keep my fingers triple crossed in hopes of some madness to follow us ala their cross country travelogue.

Lawsey, Lawsey....  They have Hit LA

Speaking of Travelogues I just finished the delightful series from the Divine Ms.Schultz on her countryside biking excursion (way ambitious this one)  Postcards From Burgundy

Postcards From Burgundy

The Divine Miss Schultz
Follow along with her Cowboy & her wingman (or would that be wingwomen ?#?#?...) Carolyn Roehm. Her photography of the scenery is spectacular or maybe that should be magnifico, the food & drink provocative, throw in the shopping along with her charming commentary & I swear to goodness it is like being there in person ~ seriously. Go, read, relax, enjoy!

I had more on PBC; will continue later.... all this has me wondering ....Miss Schultz may know Mr. Baratta; you never know. How is that for trying to tie this menage a trois together????

One Last Mom

Really lovn' the design & appointments of the Ivanka Trump Boutique & since Ivanka is a new Mom worth a Mom mention, albeit there are no pix of the baby~love on the net.... well nothing cute & couture let's say.

The color scheme rocks.

Great rendering. I just love the watercolor renderings. Oh & speaking of watercolors..... Frances Schultz who herself does some great watercolors ...

A Wedding @ Lincoln Center

Bye Bye Bahamas

did a little "shout out" to moi over @ Frances Schultz. And in the world of voodoo, whodoo & the stars lining up, we both posted on Dorothy Draper & Carleton Varney over the weekend.... seriously unplanned & unscripted. Now listen up in the world of journalism that I am not in Frances herself is for sure noteworthy (go on now click the link...) as an editor, tastemaker & in fact born into southern royalty (click for proof & a wonderful tribute to her Mama) in Tarrboro NC. She is divine & lives in NYC (when she is not spanning the globe) & I am sure knows the Trumps.
